Online Therapy
Healing from Anywhere in Texas
Life doesn’t pause for a commute. Whether you’re managing a busy schedule, navigating physical distance, or simply prefer the comfort of your own space, online therapy offers a path forward that fits your life. I provide compassionate, effective online therapy to clients throughout Texas—bringing the same quality of care you’d experience in my office to wherever you feel most comfortable.
Sometimes the hardest part of reaching out for help is fitting therapy into your already-full life. Online therapy removes those barriers. Whether you’re traveling for business or vacation—or just prefer not to drive on Texas freeways—when you’re ready, I’m here, just a video call away.
The Convenience of Online Therapy
Here’s what makes online therapy so practical:
- No commute, no waiting room. Schedule sessions during your lunch break, after the kids go to bed, or whenever works best for you. There’s no need to factor in drive time or worry about traffic.
- Access from anywhere in Texas. As a Licensed Professional Counselor in Texas, I can work with you no matter where you’re located in the state. Moving between cities? Your therapy continues seamlessly.
- Comfort and privacy. Many people find they can open up more easily when they’re in their own familiar environment. You choose the space where you feel most at ease.
- Flexibility for your schedule. Online sessions make it easier to maintain consistency in your healing journey, even when life gets unpredictable.
How Online Therapy Works
Online therapy with me looks a lot like in-person therapy—warm, collaborative, and focused on your unique story. The main difference is that we meet via secure video instead of face-to-face.
HIPAA-Compliant Video Sessions
Your privacy and confidentiality matter deeply. I use a HIPAA-compliant version of Zoom specifically designed for healthcare providers. This means our sessions are encrypted and secure, meeting the same rigorous privacy standards as traditional in-office therapy.
You’ll receive a private link for each session. All you need is a computer, tablet, or smartphone with internet access, a camera, and a quiet, private space where you can talk freely.
What to Expect in Your First Online Session
Your first session is a chance for us to get to know each other. We’ll talk about what brings you to therapy, what you’re hoping to work through, and how we might move forward together. I’ll make sure you’re comfortable with the technology and answer any questions you have about the online therapy process.
From there, our work unfolds much like it would in person. We’ll use evidence-based approaches like EMDR therapy, trauma-focused therapy, and other modalities tailored to your needs—all delivered through the convenience of secure video.
Is Online Therapy as Effective as In-Person?
This is one of the most common questions I hear, and the research is reassuring. Multiple studies have shown that online therapy can be just as effective as traditional face-to-face therapy for a wide range of concerns, including anxiety, depression, trauma, and PTSD.1,2
A comprehensive review of research found that telehealth psychotherapy shows no significant difference in outcomes compared to in-person therapy across diverse mental health conditions.3 In fact, the American Psychological Association reports that 96% of psychologists believe telehealth has proven its worth as a therapeutic tool.4
What makes therapy effective—whether online or in person—is the therapeutic relationship. The connection we build, the trust we develop, and your commitment to the process are what create lasting change. Online therapy preserves all of these essential elements.
Who Can Benefit from Online Therapy
- Busy professionals who struggle to make time for in-person appointments during traditional office hours
- Parents who find it difficult to arrange childcare or prefer to schedule sessions while children are asleep
- People in rural areas of Texas who may not have access to specialized trauma therapy or EMDR therapy locally
- Those with physical health challenges or mobility concerns that make travel difficult
- Anyone who prefers the comfort and privacy of being in their own space during sessions
- Individuals dealing with anxiety who find the idea of a waiting room or unfamiliar office overwhelming
Whether you’re working through past trauma, navigating current life challenges, or seeking support for anxiety or depression, online therapy can provide the same compassionate, evidence-based care you deserve.
Frequently Asked Questions About Online Therapy
Do I need special equipment for online therapy?
No special equipment is needed. You just need a device with internet access (computer, tablet, or smartphone), a camera, and a microphone. Most modern devices have everything built in. I’ll send you a secure link before each session—you simply click it at your appointment time, and we’ll connect.
What if my internet connection isn’t great?
We’ll work with what you have. If video quality becomes an issue, we can switch to a phone call to maintain continuity. The most important thing is that we can connect and continue your healing process.
Is online therapy really confidential?
Yes. I use HIPAA-compliant technology designed specifically for healthcare, which means our sessions are encrypted and secure. I’ll also ask you to find a private space for our sessions where you won’t be interrupted or overheard. Your privacy is as protected online as it would be in my office.
Can I do EMDR therapy online?
Absolutely. EMDR therapy adapts well to online sessions. While the format is slightly different, the therapeutic process and effectiveness remain strong. Many of my clients have experienced profound healing through online EMDR therapy.
What if I’m not comfortable with technology?
You don’t need to be tech-savvy. I’ll walk you through everything step by step, and we can do a test run before your first session if that would help you feel more comfortable. Most people are surprised by how easy and natural online therapy feels after the first session or two.
Getting Started with Online Therapy
Beginning online therapy is simple. When you reach out, we’ll schedule an introductory call where you can ask questions and we can determine if we’re a good fit. If we decide to work together, I’ll send you intake paperwork and the secure video link for your first session.
You don’t have to figure everything out before you start—just be willing to take that first step. Together, we’ll create a path forward that honors your story, your timeline, and your goals for healing.
Online therapy offers you the flexibility to prioritize your mental health without adding extra stress to your life. You can engage in meaningful, transformative work from the comfort and convenience of wherever you feel safe.
